VINEYARD
Venta Jalón is the name given by the locals to the area where Bodega Rioja Vega now stands.
‘Venta Jalón’s Finca 17’, or ‘Vineyard number 17’, was planted 20 years ago in clay loam soils which make wines with a good concentration, a marked varietal fruit character and ripe tannins.
WINE PRODUCTION AND AGING
Conditions are favorable throughout the cycle, with the end of the harvest being somewhat more complicated.
Green operations such as thinning and sanitary procedures are crucial. Harvest is carried out at normal times in our area.
Alcoholic fermentation for 8 days. Maceration with skins for 10 days. Maximum fermentation temperature is 29°C.
Aged in American and French oak barrels for two years, followed by a minimum of nine months in the bottle.
COLOR
Impressive presence, with a deep layer still containing a purple component. A wine with a strong personality.
AROMAS
Deep aromas, predominantly from varietals and the terroir. They are balsamic and spicy.
PALATE
Firm, full-bodied, and warm on the palate. Light mineral nuances on the palate. Well-structured, expressive, and persistent.
