VINEYARD
This wine is crafted from a blend of grapes sourced from a vineyard over 60 years old, located on the estate, and another vineyard over 50 years old, situated on the slopes of the Sierra de Cantabria. The vineyard on the Rioja Vega estate is cultivated using a trellis system, maximizing sun exposure as the leaf canopy acts as a large solar panel, allowing for optimal phenolic ripeness.
The vineyard on the hillside is cultivated using the bush vine method and is characterized by low yields. The vineyard management focuses on ensuring the healthiest fruit possible and achieving extreme phenolic maturity. The combination of these factors, along with the vineyard’s sun exposure and the thermal inversions typical of August and September, results in a wine with great personality and presence.
The grapes are hand-harvested, ensuring maximum respect for the fruit.
