Rioja Vega Gran Reserva 2012, 90 points International Wine & Spirit Competition
22-07-2019
The Tempranillo, Graciano and Mazuelo grapes that make this delicate Gran Reserva come from different vineyards at the property. They are vinified separately, monitored with temperature control and they also undergo independentmaceration and extraction techniques according to their potential.
After a three-year ageing in American oak barrels and a minimum of further two years in the bottle, RIOJA VEGA GRAN RESERVA 2012 shows a bright ruby red colour of medium intensity. It has delicate and elegant aromas of ripe fruit and eucalyptus, along with very well integrated notes of toast. The palate is soft, velvety and fine, with a balanced structure.
The wines from Rioja Vega have won awards all over the world, confirming the Rioja cellar as a benchmark for quality. Experts such as Guía Peñín, The Wine Advocate (Robert Parker), the British newspaper The Independent on Sunday or the prestigious Decanter and Wine Enthusiast magazines, have recognized the unique character of Rioja Vega wines.
To name but a few examples of the awards received by Rioja Vega Gran Reserva, Decanter World Wine Awards granted 91 points, 92 points the International Wine Challenge and only recently, the Rioja 10x10 wine challenge selected it among The Best Rioja Gran Reserva wines.
