Rioja Vega Crianza 2018 has been chosen as the best wine sold in Ireland at the NOFFLA Wine Awards. The competition is organized by The National Off-Licence Association (NoffLA). In this edition, awards were issued to 48 wines from all over the world, with Rioja Vega Crianza 2018 given the highest recognition by being selected as Best Wine in Ireland.
A coupage of Tempranillo and Graciano varieties that is born in the heart of the Rioja DOC, on the estates grown by this centenary winery. This wine is aged in American oak barrels for a year and subsequently cellared a further year at the winery before release. The result is a well rounded, elegant wine with an authentic Rioja typicity.
Rioja Vega Crianza 2018 adds one more award to the long list of recognitions it has won throughout this vintage. The gold medals won in international competitions such as Gilbert & Gaillard, Berliner Wein Trophy and the Asian Wine Trophy stand out. In addition to the 91 points obtained at Spain´s Verema Guide.
This success is not fruit of a single day´s work, it comes from over 140 years´ of painstaking care for its vineyards. A long journey that shows that vineyard care is the key to making fine wines with a sense of place, and here, it´s the authentic Rioja character that stands out above all else.
